We will be hosting a professional-level two day workshop presented by John Swogger (comic writer and illustrator) and Steve Evison (participatory facilitator). This is a charged for event which will be happening during Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September, from 10am until 4pm. £150 for one day, £250 for both.
This professional-level workshop will introduce the use of informational comics and narrative visuals in heritage interpretation. Day one will focus on the specific of using cartoons and day two will provide an opportunity to learn about, try and share a wider range of visualisation and engagement techniques relevant to engaging people in natural and build heritage. Both days will draw on the presenters experiences from using these approaches across the UK and around the world, as well as providing plenty of opportunity for participants to share their own experiences and knowledge.
Whilst it is possible to book one day only, we recommend joining us for the full two days to get the most from the event. Note that no prior familiarity with comics is required for this workshop – nor is any ability to draw! This workshop is designed to be equally useful to those commissioning as creating comics about heritage.
